Wild Bill Bonanti takes win at Dunntire Raceway Park

The Warrior Show moved to Lancaster, NY Aug. 7th for Supercharged Warrior Night at Dunntire Raceway Park. The sun shining and clear skies gave the go ahead for this rain out rescheduled show. The Warriors put on two rounds of competitive racing ending with a Chicago Style Final.
The Mickey Thompson Tires Burnout Contest has the Warriors Smoking up the track, and removing a few hats on the starting line, in the first round of competition. Madman Mike Himes in his Dangerzone Camaro and Jerry Bascombes Flash gave the crowd a thrill with their 1/8 mile burnouts. After the smoke cleared Bascombe took the win with Himes running under the Warrior index at 4.81 at 152 MPH.
Joe Veschusios Thriller took on the Thunderstruck Camaro of Wild Bill Bonanti. The track was in prime condition as Veschusio took the win from Bonanti who also ran under the index at 4.83 at 150 MPH. Points Champion Jared Yuhasz raised a little hell against newcomer Jeromy Vogts Untouchable taking the round win and the #1 Qualifying spot with a 4.89 at 142 MPH. Bob Lascaks Wicked Vette had a clean run at 4.81 at 144 MPH. The spectators voted Madman Mike Himes the M/T Burnout winner. Congratulations Mike.
Second round of the Warrior Show is the Enderle Fuel Quick Reaction Time Challenge. The Warriors are on their game with this round of competition and starting the round was two veteran R/T Champs, Veschusio vs Lascak. Joe left the line with a .428 to Bobs .423 and took the win with a 5.07 at 134 MPH. Flash took on Dangerzone with Dangerzone taking the lead at the line with a .469 and the win with a 4.88 at 145 MPH. Wild Bill Bonanti did some tuning to the Thunderstruck Camaro to take the win from Untouchable with a 4.99 at 142 MPH. Hellraiser left with a .450 light and ran a 5.03 at 137 MPH. Joe Veschusio took home the $200 Enderle R/T win. Congratulations Joe. This round of competition paired Wild Bill Bonantis Thunderstruck against Madman Mike Himes Dangerzone in the final.
Noise and Smoke filled the track with stellar burnouts from Thunderstruck and Dangerzone. Wild Bill Bonanti took his first Warrior win from Veteran Points Champion Madman Mike Himes with a 4.84 at 140 MPH. Congratulations Bill and the Thunderstruck Team.
Spectators and Fans were treated to M/T and Racing Junk t-shirts and Warrior Frisbees thrown into the stands on Warrior runs. Full color posters were handed out featuring all of the Warrior Teams. Drivers were on hand to autograph posters.
